July 14 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes rose on Tuesday after softer-than-expected inflation data fueled hopes the Federal Reserve could adopt a less hawkish stance on interest rates, while upbeat second-quarter results lifted most of the big bank stocks.
The data showed that the consumer price index rose 3.5% in June from a year earlier, below Reuters-polled economists' forecast of 3.8%.

July 10 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 rose to end just short of a record high on Friday, as a blockbuster Nasdaq debut of South Korea's SK Hynix fueled optimism about memory-chip makers, while investors looked ahead to quarterly earnings season kicking off next week.

July 9 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq ended sharply higher on Thursday, as Micron Technology fueled a rally in chip stocks that eclipsed fears that renewed U.S. and Iranian attacks might prolong the Middle East conflict and fuel inflation.
Tehran said it hit U.S. military targets in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain following U.S. strikes against Iran on Wednesday.

July 8 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 ended lower on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump said an interim deal aimed at ending the war with Iran was "over," while Broadcom led gains among recently battered chip stocks.
Speaking at a NATO summit in Turkey, Trump said he had no interest in further talks with Iran and warned that Washington would likely carry out additional strikes on Wednesday night.
