An SEC 13F filing is a required quarterly filing for hedge funds and other investment managers which have portfolios in excess of $100 million. The filing is due within 45 days after the end of the quarter and lists the firm's U.S. security positions at the end of the quarter. Short positions are not disclosed in a 13F.
