Airbus to boost some pay as Macron urges French firms to tackle crisis

PARIS (Reuters) - Europe's Airbus (NYSE: AIR) is ready to pay a special bonus to its lowest-paid workers after French President Emmanuel Macron called on French companies to help tackle weeks of protests about the cost of living, according to a staff memo.

The intervention by Europe's largest aerospace firm - part-owned by French, German and Spanish states - comes after Macron last week urged company leaders including planemaking chief and designated CEO Guillaume Faury to do more to ease the crisis.

ZHOUSHAN, China (Reuters) - Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) opened its first 737 completion plant in China on Saturday, a strategic investment aimed at building a sales lead over arch-rival Airbus (NYSE: AIR) in one of the world's top travel markets that has been overshadowed by the U.S-China trade war.

HONG KONG/BEIJING (Reuters) - China Development Bank (CDB) is leading a team to supervise HNA Group's asset disposals as the heavily indebted conglomerate scales back operations to a point that will leave it holding only core assets, people familiar with the situation said.

Airbus names Mhun as next programs chief

PARIS (Reuters) - Airbus (NYSE: AIR) on Friday named services boss Philippe Mhun as its next head of programs, succeeding defense and commercial aerospace veteran Didier Evrard, who is scheduled to retire.

The move completes a tandem of top-level industrial changes at Europe's largest aerospace group after Airbus last month hired Bosch appliances executive Michael Schoellhorn to replace soon-to-retire Chief Operating Officer Tom Williams.
