KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Great Plains Energy (NYSE: GXP) today announced third quarter 2016 earnings of $132.7 million or $0.86 per share of average common stock outstanding, compared with third quarter 2015 earnings of $126.4 million or $0.82 per share. For the first nine months of 2016, earnings were $190.3 million or $1.23 per share, compared to $188.9 million or $1.22 per share for the same period in 2015.
