Alcoa (AA) Offers Additional Detail on Anglesea Power Station Closure

On May 11, 2015, Alcoa Inc. (Alcoa) announced that its majority-owned subsidiary, Alcoa of Australia Limited (AofA), will permanently close the Anglesea coal mine and power station on August 31, 2015. The Anglesea power station previously supplied approximately 40 percent of the power needs for the Point Henry smelter, which AofA closed in August 2014.
