Enovix Corporation (Nasdaq: ENVX) announced plans to expand production capacity at its company-owned South Korea facility, with the first phase expected to double output for its drone battery products by mid-2027, according to a press release.
The expansion is already underway and will utilize existing land, buildings, and production equipment. The company said the South Korea customer pipeline reached approximately $183 million at the end of the second quarter of 2026, up roughly 41% from $130 million at the end of the first quarter.
The facility currently produces silicon-blended graphite anode batteries and traditional graphite anode batteries. Enovix said its products are 100% compliant with the U.S. Trade Agreements Act (TAA) and are on track to meet U.S. National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) requirements in 2027. The facility is generating revenue across defense, drone, and industrial markets.
"Our South Korea operations produce state-of-the-art, silicon-blended graphite anode cells that are 100% TAA compliant and built for the most demanding, performance-critical applications," said Ryan Benton, interim CEO of Enovix. "In response to rapidly growing customer demand, we are now moving to double our production capacity in South Korea for our flagship drone products."
The company said drone and defense opportunities alone exceeded $100 million during the second quarter of 2026. Enovix also identified industrial, medical, and robotics applications as additional markets for the same battery platform.
"Our Korea team has been supporting demanding defense and drone programs for years. This expansion is a direct response to what those customers are asking us to deliver," said Samira Naraghi, Chief Business Officer of Enovix.
Enovix is headquartered in Fremont, California, with facilities in India, South Korea, and Malaysia.
