CytomX Therapeutics names Alejandra Carvajal as chief legal officer

CytomX Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTMX) has appointed Alejandra Carvajal as chief legal officer, according to a press release from the South San Francisco-based company.
Carvajal brings more than two decades of legal experience in the biotechnology sector. She most recently served as senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary at Mersana Therapeutics, where she was part of the executive team during the company's sale to Day One Biopharmaceuticals. Before that, she held the role of chief legal officer and secretary at Momenta Pharmaceuticals, serving until its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson.
Her earlier roles include general counsel at Cerulean Pharma and several positions of increasing responsibility at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, a Takeda company. She began her legal career at Day, Berry & Howard and Hill & Barlow. Carvajal holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and an A.B. from Harvard University.

In her new role, Carvajal will support the company's strategic, operational, and pipeline initiatives.
