Laser Photonics receives six-figure order from REXA for surface prep system
Laser Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: LASE) announced it received a six-figure order from REXA, Inc. for its CleanTech CTIR-3040, a 2-kilowatt handheld laser cleaning and surface preparation system, according to a press release dated July 8, 2026.
REXA, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of Electraulic actuation systems for the power, oil and gas, and process industries, will use the system to condition surfaces of its linear actuators before powder coating. The order marks REXA's first purchase from Laser Photonics.
The CTIR-3040 combines a 2kW fiber laser with a dual-axis scanner, five preset cleaning patterns, and a built-in water chiller. The system is capable of strip rates of up to 240 square feet per hour and can operate in handheld mode or couple with industrial robots and automated work cells.
REXA deploys its actuators in environments including oil rigs and well sites. Laser surface roughening is intended to improve powder coating adhesion, which the company says can extend actuator service life in those conditions.
"This first order from REXA reflects exactly how we believe relationships with industrial manufacturers begin, with a targeted application where our technology solves a real production challenge," said Ann Tewari, Interim President of Laser Photonics.
