Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has once again decided to update the pricing on its vehicles, raising the prices of all trim levels of its Model 3 and Model Y by $1,000. Tesla's Model 3, the cheapest vehicle the manufacturer makes, has now increased in price by over 20% this year alone. The lowest price for a Model 3 is now $44,990 and a Model Y $57,990.
The price increase coincides with the addition of Midnight Silver Metallic paint as a standard color, which had previously been a $1,000 option. The change appears to be in response to a suggestion made to CEO Elon Musk on Twitter last month. The request was directed to Musk, asking the CEO to offer a different included color other than Obsidian White. Solid Black costs now $500 more at $1,500 and Midnight Silver Metallic has been added as a standard option.
A recent report from Electrek suggests that the base model 3 will now also include a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats as a standard option on the base model.
