MILAN, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned anti-Olympics protesters as "enemies of Italy" after violence on the fringes of a demonstration in Milan on Saturday night and sabotage attacks on the national rail network.
The International Olympic Committee also joined in the criticism, saying violence had no place at the Games.

JERUSALEM, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Israel's Competition Authority said on Sunday it planned to levy a fine of 121 million shekels ($39 million) on flag carrier El Al Israel Airlines for setting excessive and unfair airfares during Israel's Gaza war.
The fine is the maximum allowed by law.

ADDIS ABABA, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's foreign minister has accused neighbouring Eritrea of military aggression and of supporting armed groups inside Ethiopian territory, according to a letter seen by Reuters and verified by the foreign ministry.

TOKYO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Japan must take a "professional" approach in tapping its huge foreign reserves to fund spending and tax cuts as doing so would not be easy, Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama said on Sunday.
Tapping foreign reserves could be an option given recent yen moves, though doing so could cause problems as the reserves are used to conduct currency intervention, Katayama said in a television programme.
