Russia's Lavrov sees no 'bright future' for economic ties with U.S Feb 9, 2026 03:49AM

MOSCOW, Feb 9 (Reuters) - ⁠Russia remains ⁠open ‍for cooperation with the United States but is not hopeful about economic ties ‍despite Washington's ongoing efforts to end the Ukraine ​war, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an ​interview published on Monday.

Standard Chartered appoints ex-UBS banker Raza Jafree as global head of private client sales Feb 9, 2026 03:36AM

SINGAPORE, Feb ⁠9 (Reuters) - Standard ⁠Chartered ‍said on Monday it had appointed Raza Jafree ‍as global head of private client ​sales, as it sets up a ​new partnership between its corporate and investment bank and wealth unit to serve ​single-family offices and ultra-high net worth clients.

Jafree joined on February ​2 from UBS and is based in ‌Hong Kong. He has almost three decades of experience at ​Credit Suisse and UBS, ⁠the bank said.

TotalEnergies to provide solar power to Google's Texas data centres Feb 9, 2026 03:33AM

Feb ⁠9 (Reuters) - French ⁠power ‍group TotalEnergies ‍on Monday signed two ​long-term agreements ​to deliver 1 gigawatt of solar capacity to ​supply Google's data ​centres in Texas.

The power ‌will be generated from sites owned ​by the ⁠French major in Wichita, ‌and Mustang Creek in ‌Texas. The two ‌plants are set to enter construction in ‍the second quarter of ⁠the year.

European shares rise as tech jitters ease; earnings, deals in focus Feb 9, 2026 03:30AM

Feb 9 (Reuters) - European ⁠shares edged higher ⁠on ‍Monday, tracking a rebound in global equities following a selloff last week, as investors also ‍assessed earnings from Italian lender UniCredit and developments ​on the deals front. 

The pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.5% ​at 620.12 points, as of 0809 GMT.
