Putin to hold two-day talks with Lukashenko in Belarus, says Kremlin May 23, 2024 05:26AM

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold wide-ranging talks with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on Thursday and Friday, the Kremlin said.

Russia and Belarus are close allies, with Minsk set to take part in exercises aimed at simulating preparations for the launch of tactical nuclear weapons this month.

China Vanke granted $2.8 billion onshore syndicated loan facility May 23, 2024 05:26AM

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Cash-strapped major property developer China Vanke said on Thursday it had received a 20 billion yuan ($2.76 billion) syndicated loan facility and it would continue to push forward other financing to boost its liquidity.

Deployment of first Kenyan police to Haiti delayed, sources say May 23, 2024 05:16AM

NAIROBI (Reuters) - The deployment of the first Kenyan police officers to Haiti to lead an international anti-gang force has been delayed after a planned flight from Nairobi was postponed on Tuesday, two sources briefed on the matter told Reuters.

U.S. officials had previously indicated that the officers would be in Port-au-Prince by Thursday to coincide with Kenyan President William Ruto's state visit to the White House.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Thursday said President Vladimir Putin had not had any contact with Donald Trump, after the former U.S. president said he would use his ties with Putin to get Wall Street reporter Evan Gershkovich freed from a Russian prison.
