Vertex Pharma (VRTX) Receives EC Approval of KALYDECO in Certain Patients with CF
July 31, 2014 4:19 PM EDTVertex Pharma (Nasdaq: VRTX) announced that the European Commission has approved KALYDECO (ivacaftor) for people with cystic fibrosis (CF) ages 6 and older who have one of eight non-G551D gating mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. Todays approval follows the positive opinion from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) in June 2014.
