July 22, 2014 7:58 AM EDTMcDonalds Corp. (NYSE: MCD) reported Q2 EPS of $1.40, $0.04 worse than the analyst estimate of $1.44. Revenue for the quarter came in at $7.18 billion versus the consensus estimate of $7.28 billion.
Global comparable sales were relatively flat, reflecting higher average check and negative guest traffic in all major segments.
In the U.S., second quarter comparable sales decreased 1.5% while operating income rose 1%. Results for the quarter reflected negative comparable guest traffic amid ongoing broad-based challenges.
