Apple's (AAPL) New iPhones will Meet Lackluster Demand - Citi
September 9, 2013 10:09 AM EDTApple (NASDAQ: AAPL) is expected to release two new iPhone models at its September 10th event: the iPhone5S & the iPhone5C. Analysts at Citigroup heed caution ahead of the event and are skeptical about the success of the new devices.
Citi analyst Glen Yeung said the price of the new lower-priced 5C model may still be a hindrance. Assuming a $450 ASP the new device will still fall into the +$300 handset category, which, according to Gartner, only represented 13.7% of the total market in 2012.
