August 27, 2013 12:46 PM EDTThe reverse-Bill Ackman trade is alive and well on Wall Street Tuesday, with shares of J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP) rising 3 percent despite news the hedge fund manger exited his entire 18 percent position in a public offering at $12.90/share.
Hedge funds that got a piece of the offering, which was described as "oversubscribed," are up a quick 6.7% on their investment.
