The feud between hedge fund mangers Carl Icahn and Bill Ackman entered a new level Thursday after Icahn aired his disgust over how Ackman has handled his Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) short in a Bloomberg TV interview.

Now, Ackman is firing back. In an evening press release, Ackman described Icahn as a person that "does not keep his word."

Carl Icahn discussed Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) and Bill Ackman on Bloomberg TV Thursday. Icahn said he doesn't "like" or "respect" Ackman and criticized how he handled his Herbalife short bet. Icahn wouldn't confirm rumors he is long Herbalife, but hinted at it. He did, however, say he wouldn't buy the stock just to burn Ackman.
