Target earnings preview: Analysts see beat and raise as turnaround gains traction
August 18, 2026 3:00 PM EDTAnalysts at Citi and Jefferies expect Target (NYSE: TGT) to top expectations when the retailer reports its latest quarterly results on Wednesday, with both flagging early evidence that its merchandising overhaul is working.
Citi models earnings of $2.56 per share against consensus of $2.27, with comparable sales up 3.0% versus the Street's 2.1%, though the bank believes the bar sits at 3.0% to 3.5%.
