NextEra Energy beats earnings estimates despite revenue miss

(NYSE: NEE) reported third-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.13 per share, exceeding analyst expectations of $1.02, while revenue came in at $7.97 billion, below the $8.17 billion consensus. (Reuters) -NextEra Energy and Google have reached an agreement to restart an Iowa nuclear power plant shut five years ago, the companies said on Monday, in another sign that data-center power demand is renewing interest in U.S. nuclear energy.
The technology industry's quest for massive amounts of electricity for artificial-intelligence processing has renewed interest in the country's nuclear reactors, which generate large amounts of around-the-clock power that is virtually carbon free.

NextEra Energy, Google plan to restart Iowa nuclear plant by 2029
October 27, 2025 4:40 PM EDTNextEra Energy Inc. (NYSE: NEE) and Google announced agreements to restart the Duane Arnold Energy Center in Iowa, with the 615-megawatt nuclear facility targeted to be operational by the first quarter of 2029.
