Challenges remain for Boeing despite new CEO announcement: Morgan Stanley
August 1, 2024 8:32 AM EDTIn a note to clients Thursday, Morgan Stanley analysts acknowledged the announcement of Boeing's (NYSE: BA) new CEO, Kelly Ortberg, but said that significant challenges and uncertainties persist for the company.
While the appointment provides some clarity on leadership, the analysts maintained an Equal-weight rating on Boeing.

Boeing (BA) announces new CEO, posts wider-than-expected Q2 loss

Despite reporting an earnings and revenue miss on Wednesday, Boeing (NYSE: BA) shares are up more than 2% after the company announced it had chosen Kelly Ortberg as its new President and CEO.
Ortberg will start in the role effective August 8, 2024, and will also serve on Boeing's board of directors.
Ortberg will succeed Dave Calhoun, who earlier this year announced his intention to retire from the company, having served as president and CEO since January 2020.
