August 13, 2023 8:13 PM EDTBEIJING (Reuters) -Tesla on Monday said it has cut prices in China for its Model Y long-range and performance versions starting on Aug. 14, sending its shares lower on concern of further pressure on its profit margins.
This marks the first time since January that Tesla has reduced its vehicle prices in China, although the U.S. electric carmaker has turned to other incentives to boost sales in the face of rising competition in recent months.

August 11, 2023 3:58 AM EDTBEIJING (Reuters) -China will let local governments raise about 1 trillion yuan ($140 billion) through bond sales to repay the debt of local-government financing vehicles (LGFVs) and other off-balance-sheet issuers, Bloomberg News reported on Friday.
Debt-laden municipalities represent a major risk to China's economy and financial stability, economists say, after years of over-investment in infrastructure, plummeting returns from land sales and soaring COVID-19 costs.
The International Monetary Fund estimates 66 trillion yuan ($9.1 trillion) in total debt is held by LGFVs, which cities use to raise money for infrastructure projects critical to the country's development.
