July 20, 2023 9:39 AM EDTTesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) held its Q2 earnings call after market closed Wednesday. According to the release, the electric vehicle makers profits grew 20% in the quarter to $0.91 per share, coming in ahead of the streets estimate of $0.79. Revenue for the quarter increased 47% to $24.93 billion, versus the consensus estimate of $24.29 billion.

Investing.com -- Tesla reported second-quarter results that beat on both the top and bottom line as the electric vehicle maker's margins were less bad than feared despite recent price cuts.
Still, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) shares were down nearly 3% in pre-market Thursday following the report.
Tesla reported EPS of $0.91 on revenue of $24.93 billion. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.79 cents on revenue of $24.29B.

US government agencies target purchasing 9,500 EVs in 2023

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. government agencies are targeting buying 9,500 electric vehicles in the 2023 budget year, but face supply issues and higher costs, a federal report said on Wednesday.
That's almost three times the number acquired in the prior budget year.
