Webster Reports First Quarter 2021 Earnings Of $1.17 Per Diluted Share
April 19, 2021 6:50 AM EDTWATERBURY, Conn., April 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Webster Financial Corporation (NYSE: WBS), the holding company for Webster Bank, N.A. and its HSA Bank division, today announced earnings applicable to common shareholders of $105.5 million, or $1.17 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, compared to $36.0 million, or $0.39 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2020. Earnings per diluted share would have been $1.25 for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, adjusting for $9.4 million ($6.9 million after tax) of charges related to strategic optimization initiatives.
