Home Depot (HD) Misses Q1 EPS by 18c, Revenues Beat; Suspending FY20 Guidance, 'Sales Were Strong at End of 1Q'
May 19, 2020 6:04 AM EDTHome Depot (NYSE: HD) reported Q1 EPS of $2.08, $0.18 worse than the analyst estimate of $2.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $28.26 billion versus the consensus estimate of $27.28 billion.
Comparable sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2020 were positive 6.4 percent, and comparable sales in the U.S. were positive 7.5 percent.

Love them or loathe them, negative interest rates are back in the spotlight as ammunition-depleted central banks debate the pros and cons of going down the unorthodox route already trodden by the BOJ and ECB.
The Federal Reserve has so far brushed aside President Donald Trump's calls to adopt negative rates. Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey too said he isn't considering taking rates sub-zero.
