Boston Beer Reports Fourth Quarter 2019 Results
February 19, 2020 4:15 PM ESTBOSTON, Feb. 19, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston Beer Company, Inc. (NYSE: SAM) reported fourth quarter 2019 net revenue of $301.3 million, an increase of $76.1 million or 33.8% from the fourth quarter of 2018, mainly due to an increase in shipments of 31.7%.  Net income for the fourth quarter was $13.8 million, or $1.12 per diluted share, a decrease of $8.0 million or $0.74 per diluted share from the fourth quarter of 2018. This decrease was primarily due to increases in advertising, promotional and selling expenses and lower gross margins that were only partially offset by the increased revenue.
