Amgen Reports First Quarter 2019 Financial Results
April 30, 2019 4:01 PM EDTTHOUSAND OAKS, Calif., April 30, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Amgen (NASDAQ: AMGN) today announced financial results for the first quarter of 2019. Key results include:
Total revenues were unchanged at $5.6 billion in comparison to the first quarter of 2018. Product sales declined 1 percent globally. New and recently launched products including Prolia® (denosumab), Repatha® (evolocumab) and KYPROLIS® (carfilzomib) showed double-digit growth.GAAP earnings per share (EPS) decreased 2 percent to $3.18 driven by higher total operating expenses, offset partially by lower weighted-average shares outstanding.
