SEATTLE (Reuters) - Boeing Co's (NYSE: BA) first-half aircraft deliveries rose more than 7 percent, lifted by demand for its bestselling 737 jetliners as airlines seek more fuel-efficient planes, and orders were more than double those of European rival Airbus SE (NYSE: AIR).
The announcement on Tuesday caps a successful half year for the world's largest planemaker and comes a week ahead of the Farnborough Airshow in Britain, where airlines typically place orders.

European shares extend recovery rally as oil stocks lead

LONDON (Reuters) - European shares edged higher on Tuesday as investors shifted from worrying about a trade war to focusing on a corporate earnings season expected to deliver solid results.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.4 percent to a 2 1/2-week high, scoring its sixth straight day of gains as energy shares supported the market, while political bickering in the UK kept the FTSE , up 0.1 percent, slightly behind.

Airbus upbeat on prospect for A400M export contract this year

BERLIN (Reuters) - Airbus (NYSE: AIR) said on Friday it was optimistic it could sign a first export contract for its troubled multi-nation A400M military transport plane this year, and expressed growing confidence about prospects for European defense cooperation.
