BEIJING (Reuters) - Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (NYSE: BABA) hailed an "outstanding quarter" on Thursday and raised its outlook for the year after beating forecasts with a 61 percent revenue rise driven by strong growth in online sales.

Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) reported Q2 EPS of $1.29, $0.26 better than the analyst estimate of $1.03. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.29 billion versus the consensus estimate of $7.85 billion.
