May 2, 2017 4:06 PM EDTMCKINNEY, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Encore Wire Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE) today announced results for the first quarter of 2017.
Net sales for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017 were $279.4 million compared to $225.5 million during the first quarter of 2016. Copper unit volume, measured in pounds of copper contained in the wire sold, increased 8.1% in the first quarter of 2017 versus the first quarter of 2016. Aluminum unit volume was up 7.8% in the first quarter of 2017 versus the first quarter of 2016.
