HPE to buy Nimble Storage for $1.09 billion
March 7, 2017 7:54 AM EST(Reuters) - Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co (NYSE: HPE) said it would buy data storage provider Nimble Storage Inc (NYSE: NMBL) for $1.09 billion in cash, to expand its presence in the fast-growing flash storage business.
HPE Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman has been focusing on a few areas such as networking, storage and technology services since the company was spun off from Hewlett-Packard Co in 2015.

March 7, 2017 7:51 AM ESTNimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL) reported Q4 EPS of ($0.12), $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.14). Revenue for the quarter came in at $117 million versus the consensus estimate of $113.61 million.

March 7, 2017 7:46 AM ESTHewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL) , the San Jose, Calif.-based provider of predictive all-flash and hybrid-flash storage solutions. HPE will pay $12.50 per share in cash, representing a net cash purchase price at closing of $1.0 billion. In addition to the purchase price, HPE will assume or pay out Nimble's unvested equity awards, with a value of approximately $200 million at closing.
