AutoZone 1st Quarter Same Store Sales Increase 1.6%; EPS Increases 13.0% to $9.36
December 6, 2016 6:59 AM ESTMEMPHIS, Tenn., Dec. 06, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AutoZone, Inc. (NYSE: AZO) today reported net sales of $2.5 billion for its first quarter (12 weeks) ended November 19, 2016, an increase of 3.4% from the first quarter of fiscal 2016 (12 weeks). Â Domestic same store sales, or sales for stores open at least one year, increased 1.6% for the quarter.
Net income for the quarter increased 7.8% over the same period last year to $278.1 million, while diluted earnings per share increased 13.0% to $9.36 per share from $8.29 per share in the year-ago quarter.Â
