Wells Fargo analyst Ike Boruchow raised his valuation range on Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) to $70-$72 (from $64-$66) following "solid" Q3 results but maintained an Underperform rating.

(Reuters) - U.S. stocks edged higher on Tuesday as an upbeat outlook from UnitedHealth lifted health insurers, though a sharp drop in oil prices weighed on energy shares and limited the advance.

The day's small gains followed a decline in the market on Monday. Analysts said the post-U.S. election rally may be losing momentum, wit the S&P 500 now up roughly 8 percent for the year to date.

Jeweler Tiffany posts first sales rise in eight quarters

(Reuters) - Tiffany & Co (NYSE: TIF) reported its first rise in sales in two years as more people shopped in its stores in Japan and China, and the upscale jeweler said sales in the United States declined at their slowest quarterly pace this year.

The company's shares rose as much as 8 percent on Tuesday, their highest in 15 months.

Tiffany & Co. (NYSE: TIF) reported Q3 EPS of $0.76, $0.08 better than the analyst estimate of $0.68. Revenue for the quarter came in at $949.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $922.6 million.

Constant currency comps fell 3 percent, versus a drop of 4.1 percent expected by analysts.
