Cincinnati Financial Reports Second-Quarter 2016 Results

Second-quarter 2016 net income of $123 million, or 74 cents per share, compared with $176 million, or $1.06 per share, in the second quarter of 2015. $43 million decrease in operating income* to $95 million, or 57 cents per share, down from $138 million, or 83 cents per share, in the second quarter of last year. $53 million decrease in second-quarter 2016 net income, reflecting the after-tax net effect of two primary items: $47 million reduction in the contribution from property casualty underwriting, including an unfavorable effect...
