(NYSE: FE) today reported first quarter 2016 operating (non-GAAP) earnings* of $0.80 per basic share of common stock. These results exclude the impact of the special items listed below and compare to first quarter 2015 operating (non-GAAP) earnings of $0.62 per basic share of common stock. Work Continues on New FirstEnergy Transmission Line in West Virginia to Support Shale Gas Industry and Enhance Mon Power Service Reliability

(NYSE: FE) transmission line in Harrison and Doddridge counties, West Virginia. The project will support the electric demands of the area's established Marcellus Shale gas industry, and help enhance service reliability for nearly 13,000 Mon Power customers around the Clarksburg and Salem areas.
