NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
American Express Company (NYSE: AXP) today reported first-quarter net income of $1.4 billion, down 6 percent from $1.5 billion a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was $1.45, down from $1.48 a year ago.
