Waste Connections (WCN) Ratings Affirmed by Fitch Amid Progressive Waste (BIN) Merger
January 20, 2016 11:57 AM ESTFitch Ratings has affirmed Waste Connections, Inc.'s (NYSE: WCN) Issuer Default Rating (IDR) and debt ratings of 'BBB' on its unsecured credit facility, unsecured term loan and senior unsecured notes. The Rating Outlook is Stable. WCN's outstanding debt as of Sept. 30, 2015 was $1.9 billion.

On Jan. 19, 2016, WCN announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction with Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. (Progressive). Waste Connections (WCN) to Acquire Progressive Waste (BIN)
January 19, 2016 6:32 AM ESTWaste Connections, Inc. (NYSE: WCN) and Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd. (NYSE: BIN) today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction. Upon the completion of the transaction, Waste Connections stockholders will own approximately 70% of the combined company, and Progressive Waste shareholders will own approximately 30%. The transaction has been unanimously approved by both companies' Boards of Directors and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2016.
