S&P Places Shaw Communications (SJR) Ratings on CreditWatch Negative Following Move to Acquire WIND Mobile
December 17, 2015 2:26 PM ESTStandard & Poor's Ratings Services said it placed all of its ratings on Shaw Communications Inc. (NYSE: SJR) on CreditWatch with negative implications after the company announced an agreement to acquire Mid-Bowline Group Corp. and its wholly owned subsidiary, mobile operator WIND Mobile Corp., for C$1.6 billion. We are placing our 'BBB-' long-term corporate credit rating, our BBB-' unsecured debt ratings, and our 'BB' global and 'P-3' Canada scale preferred share ratings on Shaw on CreditWatch negative, which affects about C$5 billion of rated securities.
