November 13, 2015 10:39 AM ESTSpringleaf Holdings (NYSE: LEAF) announced that it has reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the state Attorneys General of seven states that will allow the company to proceed with closing its previously announced acquisition of OneMain Financial Holdings, LLC. The details of the settlement have been filed with the U.S. District Court, Washington, D.C., whose approval of a stipulated asset preservation order is required prior to closing. The company anticipates obtaining that approval shortly and proceeding with closing immediately thereafter.

Citigoup's (NYSE: C) OneMain Financial won U.S. antitrust approval for its sale to Springleaf Holdings (NYSE: LEAF) after the companies agreed to divest branches, according Bloomberg, citing court filings.
The $4.25 billion deal was announced in March.
