Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. Reports Third Quarter Results
October 27, 2015 6:45 AM EDTOVERLAND PARK, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. (NYSE: WDR) today reported third quarter 2015 net income of $48.1 million, or $0.58 per diluted share, compared to net income of $67.4 million, or $0.80 per diluted share, during the previous quarter and net income of $74.6 million, or $0.89 per diluted share, during the third quarter of 2014.
The current quarters net income included unrealized losses on seed investments totaling $15.3 million ($0.18 per diluted share). The third quarter of 2014 included a non-cash impairment charge of $7.9 million ($5.0 million net of taxes, or $0.06 per diluted share) related to a subadvisory agreement.
