Energy Transfer Equity (ETE) Confirms $53.1B Offer for The Williams Companies (WMB)
June 22, 2015 6:38 AM EDTEnergy Transfer Equity, L.P. (NYSE: ETE) confirmed that it has made a proposal to merge with The Williams Companies, Inc. (NYSE: WMB) in an all-equity transaction valued at $53.1 billion, including the assumption of debt and other liabilities. Over the weekend, The Williams Companies announced the proposal and said it rejected it because it "undervalues Williams and would not deliver value commensurate with what Williams expects to achieve on a standalone basis and through other growth initiatives, including the pending acquisition of WPZ."

Williams (WMB) Receives $64/Share Unsolicited Offer; To Explore Alternatives
June 21, 2015 6:36 PM EDTWilliams (NYSE: WMB) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a process to explore a range of strategic alternatives following receipt of an unsolicited proposal to acquire Williams in an all-equity transaction at a stated per share price of $64.00.
