News Corp Announces Plans to Initiate Dividend

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- News Corp today announced plans to pay a cash dividend to stockholders. Subject to declaration by the Board of Directors, the Company expects to initiate a semi-annual cash dividend of approximately $0.10 per share in the first quarter of fiscal 2016, which begins on June 29, 2015, for payment in the second quarter.

The anticipated dividend would mark the first time the Company has paid a dividend since the "new" News Corp was established as a separate, publicly traded company in mid-2013.

News Corp Amends Stockholder Rights Plan

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- News Corp today announced that its Board of Directors has approved an amendment to the Company's stockholder rights plan (the "Rights Plan"), which was scheduled to expire on June 18, 2015. The amendment extends the expiration date of the Rights Plan until June 18, 2018, unless redeemed earlier by the Company as provided for in the Rights Plan.

The Rights Plan allows the Board of Directors to preserve the Companys ability to implement management's strategic plan in order to maximize the long-term value of the Company for all stockholders.
