Diamond Offshore Announces First Quarter 2015 Results
May 4, 2015 6:00 AM EDTHOUSTON, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. (NYSE: DO) today reported a net loss of $256 million, or $1.86 per share, in the first quarter of 2015, compared to net income of $146 million, or $1.05 per share, in the first quarter of 2014. Revenues in the first quarter of 2015 were $620 million, compared to revenues of $709 million in the first quarter of 2014.
Results for the quarter included a non-cash charge of $319 million after tax, or $2.33 per share, associated with the impairment of eight drilling units, three of which are to be retired and scrapped. The units to be retired are the... More
Loews Corporation Reports Net Income Of $109 Million For The First Quarter Of 2015
May 4, 2015 6:00 AM EDTNEW YORK, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --Â Loews Corporation (NYSE: L) today reported net income for the three months ended March 31, 2015 of $109 million, or $0.29 per share, compared to $59 million, or $0.15 per share, in the prior year period. Net income in 2014 included a loss from discontinued operations of $206 million reflecting the disposition of both HighMount Exploration & Production, LLC and CNA Financial Corporation's annuity and pension deposit business.
