What's in store for the next-generation Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone? A few things, actually.
Today, CNET highlights a post by a Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) Tech user. The user said that Apple might be working on an iPhone 5S as well as an iPhone 6. While the iPhone 5S appears to be similar in size and shape to the current iPhone 5 model, the iPhone 6 is rumored to be thinner, wider, and longer...maybe resembling something like the Samsung Galaxy S III.
The iPhone 6 is said to spot a 5-inch display, leagues above the current 4-inch Multi-Touch display.
Apple's iPhone 5S will have a faster chip and boast a "fingertip sensor," according to one analyst from KGI Securities.
Reports come as Samsung is readying its own refresh to its Galaxy line. Following the success of the Galaxy S III smartphone and Note 2 phablet (larger than a smartphone, smaller than a tablet), the company is girding to unveil the next-generation Galaxy sometime in March. Minimal specs on the S IV include a 5-inch 1080p display, Android 5.0, possibly a flexible screen, a 13-megapixel camera and more. Needles to say, Apple will have its work cut out at the high-end of the spectrum.
Shares are indicated for a higher open Friday.
