Nvidia’s Huang highlights AI benefits in Berlin speech amid wider European tour

October 21, 2026 7:47 AM EDT

Investing.com - Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called on Europe to quickly adopt artificial intelligence, striking a bullish tone on the nascent technology even as jitters surround a rapid buildout of AI infrastructure.

Speaking at an event in Berlin, Huang said that Europeans should not want to "just be consuming the AI," adding that the region ought to be focusing on "producing the AI." Huang has previously backed the strategy of "sovereign AI," in which individual countries build and control their own AI systems, rather than relying on those in major markets like the United States and China.

"We could do all of that here in Europe, and in fact, we've already started."

Huang used his keynote address to show off Nvidia's full-stack AI factory, which spans across hardware and software to libraries and models, as a platform that can be employed to operate AI infrastructure.

The comments come as Huang has been traveling around Europe as he attempts to bolster new markets for Nvidia's cutting-edge chips. At the helm of Nvidia, Huang oversees the world's largest company by market capitalization and a longstanding figurehead for the AI boom.

Nvidia has signed a series of deals with other AI players, including agreements that will see the firm simultaneously prop up and benefit from customers. This has fueled concerns around so-called circular financing in the AI industry, with analysts at Vital Knowledge flagging that in some cases Nvidia seems to be serving as a "central bank" for the sector.

Huang has rejected these accusations, suggesting that such financing arrangements help to address financing gaps traditional sources have not filled.

In recent weeks, fears have swirled around the sustainability of debt-fueled spending on AI infrastructure, especially after hotter-than-anticipated U.S. inflation data triggered increased bets on higher-for-longer Federal Reserve interest rates. AI stocks have gyrated as investors assess these concerns.
