Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) announced a $60 million investment to expand its Nucor Towers & Structures facility in Trinity, Alabama, subject to regulatory and other approvals. The expansion is expected to add 60 jobs with average annual wages exceeding $87,000.
The Trinity facility, which began operations in September 2025, is located adjacent to Nucor Steel Decatur. The expansion will add production capacity, additional laydown space and a dedicated galvanizing inspection area, increasing output of steel poles and other steel structures for utility infrastructure.
"By expanding our Trinity facility adjacent to our Decatur sheet mill, we can combine American-made steel with highly efficient manufacturing to better serve our utility customers and support their long-term infrastructure needs," said Leon Topalian, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Nucor Corporation.
Nucor formed its Towers & Structures business in 2022 through the acquisition of Summit Utility Structures LLC and its Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. The company has since opened facilities in Alabama and Indiana and is constructing a fourth facility in Utah, expected to begin operations next year.
Nucor currently employs more than 2,700 workers across 12 locations in Alabama, including three steel mills that use recycled scrap as their primary raw material.
