First Advantage Corporation (NASDAQ: FA) and ID.me announced an exclusive strategic partnership and the launch of a Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)-compliant digital identity verification product aimed at employers, according to a press release dated Oct. 20, 2026.
The product is designed to detect identity fraud during recruitment, hiring, and onboarding. It will appear within background screening reports, allowing employers to make employment-related decisions based on the results.
The companies said existing identity fraud detection tools have lacked FCRA compliance, which the new integrated product addresses by combining First Advantage's biographical data and compliance capabilities with ID.me's identity verification technology.
"Identity fraud detection is one of the most critical trust factors in hiring today," said Joelle Smith, President of First Advantage. "By combining First Advantage's biographical data and compliance expertise with ID.me's high-assurance identity proofing, we're delivering a FCRA-compliant identity fraud detection product."
Taylor Liggett, Chief Growth Officer at ID.me, said the product is "purpose-built for hiring and compliant with the FCRA, so that employers can mitigate fraud, act with confidence, and give candidates a fast, simple experience."
First Advantage provides background screening and identity solutions to more than 80,000 customers globally. ID.me's identity verification platform is used by 24 federal agencies and 50 state government agencies.
