Getty Images and Lee Enterprises form content licensing partnership

October 20, 2026 9:01 AM EDT

Getty Images (OTCPK: GETY) and Lee Enterprises (NASDAQ: LEE) announced a content partnership that will make editorial photography and video from Lee Enterprises' local newsrooms available to Getty Images' global customer base.

Under the agreement, Getty Images will license and distribute visual content produced by journalists and photographers across the Lee Enterprises network, which operates 193 owned and managed brands across 28 states. The content covers local news, sports, politics, culture, and major events in communities throughout the United States.

"Some of the most important stories start at a local level, and the photographers and journalists closest to those stories bring unique perspectives that are relevant globally," said Peter Orlowsky, SVP of Strategic Development at Getty Images. "Lee's newsrooms strengthen the depth and breadth of our U.S. editorial coverage and give our customers access to photography and video produced by journalists embedded in the communities they cover."

Jason Adrians, chief content officer at Lee Enterprises, said the partnership would extend the reach of the company's visual journalism beyond its local markets.

Getty Images currently distributes content from more than 200 U.S. newspapers as part of its editorial content offering. The partnership with Lee Enterprises adds another major local news network to that distribution arrangement.

Lee Enterprises is headquartered and has markets including St. Louis, MO; Buffalo, NY; Omaha, NE; Richmond, VA; Lincoln, NE; Madison, WI; and Davenport, IA.
