Athena Gold Corporation (CSE: ATHA) (OTCQB: AHNRF) has appointed Jordan Quinn, P.Geo., as Vice President of Exploration, effective immediately, according to a company statement.
Quinn previously served as the company's Lead Technical Advisor and succeeds Benjamin Kuzmich, P.Geo., who is stepping down from the role. Kuzmich will remain with Athena in a consulting capacity as Lead Technical Advisor.
Quinn has more than 10 years of experience in mineral exploration, including work with Newmont and Barrick, and more than two years as a production geologist at the Musselwhite Mine. During his time as Lead Technical Advisor, Quinn worked on Athena's Laird Lake and Forester projects, as well as the Excelsior Springs project in partnership with Mammoth Minerals Limited.
Kuzmich is credited with acquiring the Laird and Forester projects and the discovery of the Scooby Zone during his tenure as Vice President of Exploration.
"We welcome Jordan to the Athena team as our new Vice President of Exploration," said CEO Koby Kushner, noting Quinn's role in executing the company's maiden drill program in Red Lake.
Athena's Laird Lake project is located in the Red Lake Gold District of Ontario, covering more than 7,000 hectares. The company also holds the Forester project in northwestern Ontario and the Excelsior Springs project in Nevada.
