DEFSEC Technologies reports $7.7M cash, zero debt at fiscal year-end
DEFSEC Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: DFSC) reported preliminary unaudited cash and cash equivalents of approximately $7.7 million and no debt as of September 30, 2026, up from $3.5 million cash and no debt as of June 30, 2026. The company attributed the increase to net proceeds from an August 2026 equity offering, offset by operating activities during its fourth fiscal quarter.
The Ottawa-based company, which develops tactical systems for military and security forces, disclosed it had 4,593,998 common shares outstanding and 24,575 pre-funded warrants remaining to be converted.
On the product side, DEFSEC completed demonstrations of its Battlespace Laser Identification Sensor System (BLISS) pre-production units at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah in August 2026, providing laser-detection performance demonstrations to the U.S. Army.
The company said it is expanding its commercial team through new hires in business development and marketing to support sales of its ARWEN less-lethal munitions platform to law enforcement and corrections agencies across North America. DEFSEC also stated that its ARWEN 40mm baton ammunition is now in full-rate production for use with third-party 40mm launchers, which it said broadens its addressable market to agencies that do not use ARWEN launchers.
DEFSEC is currently exhibiting at the Best Defence conference in London, Ontario, and at the Real Time Crime Centre Ops & Tech West in Edmonton, Alberta. Upcoming appearances include the Police Tech Conference and Expo in Toronto (December 2026), Army Day on the Hill (December 2026), and SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada (January 2027). According to the company's press release, it has attended six industry events across Canada and the United States since October 2025, with five more underway or scheduled through January 2027.
