Newline by Fifth Third enables fintech Visa corporate cards in 40+ countries

October 19, 2026 12:02 PM EDT

Newline by Fifth Third, a division of Fifth Third Bancorp (NYSE: FITB), announced that eligible U.S.-based fintechs can offer Visa corporate cards for approved business use cases in more than 40 countries through Visa's Multinational Program.

Under the arrangement, cards are issued for local use in cardholders' countries, meaning transactions are authorized in local currency and processed as locally issued cards. This structure reduces cross-border fees and currency conversion costs that typically arise when U.S.-issued cards are used abroad.

Eligible fintech categories include human capital management platforms, expense management providers, and vertical software-as-a-service platforms that serve business customers operating in multiple countries. Availability is subject to client, program, country, regulatory, financial crimes, and sanctions requirements.

"We're proud to offer our clients card issuing in more than 40 countries, so they can serve customers wherever they do business," said Sushil Raja, general manager of Newline by Fifth Third. "We've built that reach country by country, with the same risk and compliance discipline our clients count on from Fifth Third."

Chris Baker, head of commercial and money movement solutions for North America at Visa, said the Multinational Program was designed to make cross-border payments feel local, and that the collaboration with Newline extends that experience to more businesses.

The announcement was made at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas.
